Sea Ray 42
A shaded bridge deck with wrap-around seating, a forward sun deck and two staterooms make this a relaxed choice for families and friends.

11 to 20 guests
The widest choice in the fleet, from shaded 42-footers to the 105-foot flagship. The right yacht for your group depends on how you want to spend the day, not just on the guest count.
The most flexible size
This is the busiest part of the fleet, with 34 vessels listed for 11 to 20 guests. That much choice is good news, as long as you know what separates one yacht from the next.
Groups of this size are usually celebrating something: a birthday, a reunion of old friends, a family spanning three generations, a bachelorette weekend. They need room to spread out, a mix of sun and shade, and enough to eat and drink for everyone. Length alone does not tell you whether a yacht delivers that.
Below you will find six questions that most often decide the choice, a plain explanation of how guest numbers work, and the full collection split into two bands: 11 to 15 guests, and 16 to 20. A group of exactly ten can look here too, for more space than a ten-guest yacht offers.
As everywhere on this site, the guest numbers are listed maximums, and every vessel is checked for your date before anything is confirmed.

How to choose
Use these as a checklist when you compare cards. Examples come from the vessels' listings; anything a listing does not mention is confirmed when you inquire.
Look for a wide or cushioned bow. The Sea Ray 55 lists a wide sunbathing bow, the Sea Ray 55 Sundancer a large one, the Sea Ray 60 a spacious cushioned foredeck, and the Sea Ray 55 (Riviera Nayarit) a sunken bow lounge. For a group that wants to lie in the sun together, this matters more than length.
The midday sun on the water is strong. The Sea Ray 42 lists a shaded bridge deck with wrap-around seating, the Bayliner 43 a shaded aft deck, and the Ferretti 80 a shaded flybridge with dining space. If shade is a priority, say so and we check the layout of every yacht we suggest.
An air-conditioned salon gives guests somewhere cool to retreat. The Cruiser 50 lists an air-conditioned salon, two cabins and a full bathroom; the Azimut 58 an air-conditioned leather salon, two cabins and two bathrooms. Many listings say nothing about facilities, so ask.
A flybridge adds an upper deck with views over the coastline and spreads a larger group across two levels. Listings in this range that mention one include the Bayliner 43, Azimut 46 Fly, Azimut 58, Hatteras 58, Hatteras 61, Azimut 80 and Ferretti 80.
Paddleboards, kayaks and floating mats appear on many listings here, in different quantities. The Carver 42 lists two paddleboards and a floating pad, the Sea Ray 46 a kayak, a floating pad and two fishing rods, and the Azimut 85 a jet ski and a paddleboard.
Most yachts in this range list a single quantity of beer or soda, commonly 24, 36 or 48 drinks. For a larger group, the difference between those quantities is noticeable, so check how far it is likely to go. A handful list lunch, an open bar or a chef, and many allow you to bring more.
Guest numbers
Each card shows the listed maximum. For most yachts that is the whole story, but a few listings work differently. On the Azimut 43, Sea Ray 46, Azimut 58, Rio 58 and Azimut 85, the standard arrangement covers a smaller group, and additional guests up to the maximum are accommodated by arrangement. If your group sits near the top of the range, give us the exact number so the quote reflects it.
Where sources disagree about capacity, we show the lower figure. That applies to the Tiara 44, VTech 65 and Lagoon 45 II, whose listings give different maximums in different places. We confirm the real maximum for your date before you book.
Finally, a maximum is not a comfort rating. Twenty guests on a yacht listed for twenty means every seat is taken. If you want space to move, choose a yacht listed comfortably above your headcount, or compare the large-group fleet as well.

Beyond the basics
Extras are listed yacht by yacht, never across the board. These are the ones groups of 10 to 20 ask about most often.
6 yachts in this range list more than snacks. The Marquis 50 and Azimut 80 list lunch, the Hatteras 58 and Hatteras 61 an open bar with food, and the Azimut 85 and Azimut 105 a chef on board. On many of the others, catering can be added at extra cost.
Many listings mention a sound system, often with a smartphone or Bluetooth connection, including the Bayliner 43, Cruiser 50, Azimut 58, Leopard 44 and Lagoon 38. The Luxury Custom 70 adds karaoke and a cinema setup.
If someone needs to stay connected, the Luxury Custom 45 lists Starlink internet and Smart TVs, and the Custom 60 (Nuevo Vallarta) and Luxury Custom 70 list onboard internet. Other listings do not mention internet access.
Matching yacht to group
Two groups of fifteen can need very different yachts. Start from who is coming and what they will do all day, then compare the cards.
Grandparents want shade and a comfortable seat; children want the water. Look for a shaded deck or an air-conditioned salon alongside a swim platform, and tell us everyone's ages so suitable life jacket sizes can be confirmed.
A flybridge or a wide bow gives the group a place to gather, a sound system keeps the music going, and a larger drinks allowance or an open bar avoids running dry halfway. Ask what can be arranged for decorations or a cake on your yacht.
If the plan is snorkeling and paddling, prioritize toys over finishes: two paddleboards, a kayak or a floating mat make more difference than a leather salon. Snorkeling gear is listed on nearly every yacht in the fleet.

Questions & answers
Straight answers to the questions guests ask most. Anything not covered here is confirmed in writing when you inquire.
In all, 35 vessels in the fleet list a maximum of 15 guests or more, 23 of them within the 10-to-20 range. If you would like more room than a 15-guest maximum gives, choose one listed for 18 or 20, or look at the large-group fleet.
It can take that many, since 20 is its listed maximum, but every seat and sun pad will be in use. For a relaxed day with room to move, choose a vessel listed above your headcount, or one with a flybridge that spreads people across two decks.
On some yachts in this range, including the Azimut 43, Sea Ray 46, Azimut 58, Rio 58 and Azimut 85, the standard arrangement covers a smaller group, and additional guests up to the listed maximum are accommodated by arrangement. Give us your exact headcount and we confirm how it is handled for your date, in writing.
Listings in this range that mention a flybridge include the Bayliner 43, Azimut 46 Fly, Azimut 58, Azimut 58 Fly, Azimut 85, Sea Ray 55 (Riviera Nayarit), Hatteras 58, Hatteras 61, Azimut 80 and Ferretti 80. A flybridge adds an upper deck for views and gives a larger group a second place to gather.
Listings that mention cabins, staterooms or bathrooms include the Sea Ray 42, Cruiser 50, Azimut 58, Azimut 58 Fly, Azimut 85, Lagoon 38, Luxury Custom 45, Custom 60 (Nuevo Vallarta) and Luxury Custom 70. Many other listings simply do not describe their facilities, so we confirm them for every yacht we suggest.
Listings state a single quantity, such as 24 or 48 beers or sodas, rather than a per-guest amount, so a group of 15 may find a smaller allowance goes quickly. If your group expects more, choose a yacht with a larger allowance or an open bar, or bring extra where the listing allows it — we confirm exactly how the allowance works for your booking.
In this range: Marquis 50 (lunch included), Azimut 85 (chef on board), Azimut 105 (chef on board), Hatteras 58 (open bar & food), Hatteras 61 (open bar & food) and Azimut 80 (lunch included). On many other yachts, catering can be added at extra cost; we confirm what is possible for the yacht you choose.
